I am a Yoga Alliance qualified teacher with over 3 years teaching experience. Having completed my 200 hour teacher training with internationally renowned Yoga and Pilates teacher Elena Voyce PHD of teach yoga, i am now also trained in Yoga Nidra and a qualified Pilates teacher.
Hi I’m Jacqui
I have dipped in and out of Yoga and Pilates for many years and enjoy both practices very much. I love to focus on body awareness and breath work. I recently qualified in teacher training in Pilates for beginners and am currently continuing my studies to further my training to advanced Pilates teacher and plan to teach Pilates in the near future as I feels yoga and Pilates can really compliment each other.
I have also completed a children’s yoga course with KiDo Kids Yoga which is based around teaching children yoga though Rhymes and story telling. I feel passionate to introduce yoga to children at a young age to help give them the tools to help them understand how to cope with the pressures of stress in social and school life as they get older. I have 3 children of my own, a 18 year old son, and two girls 9 year old and 3 years old and feel that yoga will benefit all 3 of them at different stages in their lives.
I have just completed a Yoga Nidra course which was fascinating and I am now obsessed with that so am looking forward to bringing that into my relaxation parts of my classes. I hope to introduce a Yoga Nidra class regularly to my clients in the near future.
Through my own experiences Yoga has helped me in many ways. I have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety in the past and now use Yoga and breath work to help control this and help prevent future attacks. I learnt that from my own life experiences I tended to rush around filling my days jam packed so I didn’t have time to think and I was so unaware of myself and my body. My journey with Yoga has helped me so much with this and I now love to focus my Yoga classes on mind and body awareness. I always try to look at the positives in any situation and I think Yoga helps me keep this focus.
My teaching style is very much alignment based working in a slow gentle flow. I try to make my classes relaxed and fun, I don’t take myself too seriously and from the feedback I have received this is how people feel attending my classes.
My current timetable is a mix of classes, beginners, gentle flow and I also like to teach strong dynamic classes as I think we all like to feel strong and healthy so this is a great positive class to help with the mix.
